The private customers' deposits reach new heights

The private customers' deposits have increased by kr. 69 billion in 2023. Their total deposits amount to kr. 1,160 billion at the end of 2023, equivalent to kr. 241 thousand per adult Dane. However, the deposits vary significantly among private customers. The typical private customer has a considerably lower deposit than the average customer, while a smaller percentage has a significantly larger deposit than the average. In December alone, private customers' deposits have increased by kr. 28 billion. This marks the largest monthly increase since October 2020. The substantial growth in December has been facilitated by the attribution of returns of approximately kr. 10 billion for 2023 on the part of private customers' deposits invested through pooling schemes. Additionally, after several years of modest or negative interest attributions, private customers have received deposit interest totaling around kr. 8 billion on the remaining portion of their deposits.

Private deposits set a new record again after a significant increase in December
