Tighter credit standards for the real estate industry
In Danmarks Nationalbank's lending survey for the 2nd quarter of 2023, the credit managers in 6 out of 20 banks and mortgage institutions report that the credit standards for corporate clients are expected to be tightened in the 3rd quarter of 2023. According to the credit managers, the expected tightening is primarily due to the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority's new guidance on the financing of rental properties and property projects, where the requirements to example self-financing has changed. Therefore, it is especially the real estate industry that is expected to meet the tighter credit standards.
