Insurance and pension

Pension returns again positive after negative in 2022

The insurance and pension sector had a positive return of kr. 92 billion in the first five months of the year. The positive return is due to earnings across all active classes including stocks, bonds and interest rate derivatives. Last year, all asset classes suffered losses and the sector lost a total of kr. 696 billion – primarily due to losses on bonds and interest rate derivatives from rising interest rates. Despite the losses last year, the overall return since 2018 is kr. 428 billion especially because of the high returns in 2019-21.
