New Capital-Adequacy Rules for Credit Institutions
The Basel Committee has published its Third Consultative Paper on new capital-adequacy rules. The minimum capital requirement is to reflect more clearly the actual risks incurred by credit institutions. The credit institutions and supervisory authorities are to be in close dialogue on the size of the capital requirements. The new rules are expected to enter into force in 2007.
