The Development in Cash Prices of Owner-Occupied Housing
Adjusted for general price trends, owning a home is not more expensive today than it was previously, but there are large regional differences. In the metropolitan area, the costs of living in owner-occupied housing are at a historically high level. It is believed that the introduction of adjustable-rate loans has had a small positive effect on cash prices, as will the introduction of deferred-amortisation loans.
