Proposal for a Directive on New Capital-Adequacy Rules (Basel II)
The proposed directive for new capital-adequacy rules is expected to be finally adopted before the end of 2005. This article describes the general content of the proposed directive and the future work within the EU. A simple estimate points to lower capital requirements for Danish banks as a result of the new rules.
