The Board of Directors of Danmarks Nationalbank has selected Signe Krogstrup as a member of Danmarks Nationalbank's Board of Governors. Signe Krogstrup is 48 years old and has served as Assistant Governor and Head of Economics and Monetary Policy at Danmarks Nationalbank since 1 June 2019.
"Signe Krogstrup's selection follows an extensive selection process with a broad pool of qualified candidates. She has a strong professional background and international experience. She is learning and development oriententet with a strong strategic focus and a highly talented communicator," says Professor Christian Schultz, Chairman of the Committee of Directors of Danmarks Nationalbank.
Signe Krogstrup holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Copenhagen and a PhD in International Economics from The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Switzerland. Signe has extensive experience in economic research and monetary policy from many years of service with the Swiss National Bank and the IMF.
"I'm extremely pleased and honoured to assume the position as Governor after Hugo Frey Jensen. Danmarks Nationalbank plays a key role in society and enjoys high credibility. I will strive to protect and maintain this position," says Signe Krogstrup.
Signe Krogstrup replaces Governor Hugo Frey Jensen on 1 November 2020. Hugo Frey Jensen has wanted to resign from the position to retire.
