New Danish banknotes

Denmark will get new banknotes in 2028-2029. From 13 May 2024 and three weeks ahead, all citizens had the opportunity to voice their opinion on the themes by taking part in a survey. We received over 75,000 responses, which we are now processing. In September, we will publish the final themes for the motifs of the new banknotes.

What will Denmark's new banknotes look like?

Banknotes are a tangible symbol of a country’s identity and are recognised as having both cultural and historical significance. Several museums and educational institutions in the fields of art, culture and science have contributed with suggestions for the motifs and themes of the notes.
